2017 The Dirty Dive Bar was the brainchild of a gang of friends who wanted to recreate an experience similar to the one they'd had in Mexico, in the heart of Quartier DIX30. During their road trip, the boys visited several small Mexican dive bars, each distinguished from the next by its pastel colors, funky neon lights, Christmas lights adorning the walls and, of course, luchador masks. They all had a few things in common: a rustic look with a lived-in feel, extraordinary margaritas, authentic tacos and an incredible fiesta atmosphere. From this road trip was born our dream: to create a unique Mexican dive bar at DIX30. Our mission is to take our customers on a journey through our flavours, our drinks, our atmosphere and, of course, to introduce them to the wonderful agave spirits that Mexico has to offer.
Dirty D Takes Over Original Brossard location opens with Manny's father (Manny Sr) bringing authentic Salvadoran flavors. Huge success leads to a St-Hubert takeout & production kitchen. Third Dirty D opens in Little Italy's former Peacock space, solidifying their Montreal presence. Definition of a dive bar: - A place with a lived-in, unglamorous past that often offers a very basic selection of spirits, simple cocktails as well as street food. - Can also mean a "trashy" neighborhood bar where locals like to gather to talk trash.
